Core conception

- Chukwu = Chi-Ukwu, the Great Chi: the universal, all-pervading source from which every individual chi is "carved out" and to which it eventually returns. Countless micro-Chi in one macro Chi-Ukwu.

- Everything has a Chi — human, spirit, animal, vegetable, rock, liquid — which is why missionaries mislabeled the tradition "animism."

- God is not described as having qualities but as being them: God is Knowledge, Wisdom, Beauty, Truth, Justice, Fairness. Nothing (e.g., knowledge) can exist independent of God.

- Judgement is automatic and mirror-like: Onye nyoo enyo o fu onwe ya — one who looks in the mirror sees exactly oneself. No intercession changes it; God's laws take effect "as night succeeds day." Mercy operates only after cosmic equilibrium is restored.
