Akala is a codex of Igbo culture for the age of the machine — and it is bigger than any one keeper. We are looking for partners in the cultural space: AI labs, universities and their linguistics and African-studies departments, private scholars and researchers, anyone with data or ideas that serve the mission, and donors who want to be part of it. In a world where language is power, this work is shared.
AI labs
We are building the corpus of Igbo thinking — derivation records, reasoning traces, tone-marked sentences — that models need to learn the language and learn it true. If you train models, let us serve Igbo representation together.
Universities & departments
Linguistics, African studies, digital humanities, computer science. We would love to work with your faculty and students on the lexicon, the Forge's rulebook, tone-marking, and the endangered oral genres.
Scholars & researchers
Independent d'bia, linguists, historians, and culture-keepers with knowledge, corrections, or manuscripts. Your work can be cited, tiered, and honoured in the archive.
Anyone with data or ideas
Dictionaries, recordings, field notes, dialect data, or a plan that moves the mission forward. Bring it — the corpus is community-owned, and attribution is preserved.
Donors & supporters
