Annual festivals — Ita Atu / Ime Agwu

- Ita Atu ("eating Atu") — the Dibia's annual theophagy: renewing the potent mouth by symbolically eating the Creator-God who creates by word of mouth. Atu tuo, o wulu — whatever Atu pronounces comes into being. Regional survivals: Ili Agba Chukwu ("eating God's jaw," Opi Nsukka), Igwa Nsi (Aboh — properly toned, "reactivating the primer"), Ili Ntekpe (Opi).

- As true Dibias declined, Ime Agwu (the Agwu festival, at the fifth/sixth moon) has tended to replace Ita Atu. It is also the day grateful clients bring appreciation — the only sanctioned occasion for gifts beyond the fixed reward (see ethics, §5.7).

- Igba Ota Umu Dibia — ancient cosmic gun/arrow festival when the Sun stands in Ogba Uta (Sagittarius, 23 Nov–21 Dec) or Owa Ota/Ikenga (Aries, 21 Mar–28 Apr): ritual shooting into the sky.

- Ofeke may share festival food but never up to the potent-mouth level — the rule: Ofeke malu ogwu, mmadu agwu — if the uninitiated is taught Ogwu, humanity would perish.
