Komosu, Oma, and Ife-Nta

- Komosu — Chukwu's wife, whose peeping into the Obi triggered creation's shattering; her body became identified with the earth.

- Oma — the first woman, mother of humanity (at least of all Igbo; T1 holds of Blacks and Whites alike). The embrace-greeting ibi Oma ("stamping Oma") re-enacts shared descent: mmadu niine bu nwa Nne — all humanity are children of one Mother. The crow/raven is Ugene Oma, Oma's sacred bird.

- Ife-Nta ("Small Light") — the first man, father of the Igbo; honored in the many Ifite/Ishite/Ihite/Ivite/Irete villages across Igboland; Chukwu is praised as Ife, Nna Ife Nta — the Light, Father of the Small Light.

- The Igbo held humanity was born from the cosmic egg — preserved in the natal rite Ibu Nne Amun (carrying gifts to the new mother's grandmother) and the chick maxim: the day-old chick says the egg is its grandmother. [pp.98–99]
