Sacred geometry & motifs

- Thesis: against the theory that African form is only circles/curves/spirals — Igbo design deliberately deploys circle, triangle, rectangle, spiral and line together.

- Aba-ato (triangle) — diagram of Ikenga power; "the three-mouthed spear" (Ube-Onu-Ito); exploited in metaphysical constructions.

- Okpa-aja-naano (rectangle/four-walled compound) — imitation of Obi Chukwu; onye kuo okpa-aja-naano, ndi Mmuo amalu be ya — build the four walls and the spirits know your address; then onye pua Obi, o nuo nwanyi; onye nua nwanyi, o choba ndu — compound → wife → the seeking of life: creativity and continuity.

- The Obi as anatomy: head (isi) and belly (afo) joined at aka nku — and its orientation toward the compound gate broadcasts the family's moral rating: Obi akwubalu oto (upright Obi = rectitude) vs Obi eghobelu ushe (askew = moral bankruptcy).

- Oda Ogwu — the Igbo magical pyramid: four triangular faces to the four cardinal points (E/W/S/N by sunrise/sunset/right-hand/left-hand); later circular-tapering forms; Chukwu always at the apex; miniaturized into everyday moulded pyramids (odo, ogili and ukpaka packages, salt cones) and the mobile three-forked firelight holder Nkwu Oku.

- Ogu Nzu / Nzu Nwafo — long white chalk as two pyramids joined at the base, apexes to negative and positive — the change-invocation implement of Olisa Ebili Uwa; the round Nzu Obada symbolizes the turning of world conditions — "no condition is permanent"; Okilikili bu ije agwo — circling is the snake's walk; Agwo wolu iwolo — let the snake shed its old skin (bad circumstance) for new.

- The rectangle = two triangles joined (the Obi Chukwu's isi na afo); Saturn's rings live in Ofo gba ona mmei (Ofo with red copper rings); teardrop form in the Nri Otunsi; Egbo barrier-structures (Ishe/Ifie Egbo — mystical barricade against war/disease, built of Ogilisi and Asusu-aka posts with palm fronds, circular ukpaka shells, rectangular fans, a day-old chick, tied with Ogbalundu creeper) re-deploy the Odaghini Okwalu "brakes" of creation.

- Onwa (moon): fate-linked; a new moon must complete its cycle; new/full moons heighten mental and psychic activity (madness manifestations).

- Uli/Uri body-art and Nsibidi/Nshibiri script [T2]: Nsibidi encodes the "Chi signature vibration geometry"; its primordial sign — the rainbow feathered serpent coiled on the tree-pole, golden halo, jewel of wisdom — is claimed as the world's oldest enlightenment symbol, later miniaturized into the eye-in-triangle.
